Gotland Lullaby Lyrics. An original lullaby inspired by the Swedish island of Gotland, home to the medieval walled town of Visby and ancient carved rune stones. Visby’s medieval wall, nearly three and a half kilometers of it, still encircles the old Hanseatic trading town today and is remarkably well preserved for its age, while Gotland’s rune stones, some carved more than a thousand years ago, record both everyday Viking life and scenes from Norse mythology.
