Laz Lullaby Lyrics. An original lullaby inspired by the Laz people of Turkey’s northeastern Black Sea coast, known for tea plantations and a language related to Georgian. Laz belongs to the Kartvelian language family, the same family as Georgian, though the two aren’t mutually intelligible, and the region’s now-famous tea plantations are a relatively recent addition, introduced in the 1930s and transforming what was historically a fishing and seafaring economy along this stretch of the Black Sea coast.
