What “Duerme, Perezosito” Means

Costa Rican lullabies share the wider Spanish ‘Duermete, nino’ tradition, but here the gentle, unhurried pace of the sloth — one of the country’s best-loved symbols of its ‘pura vida’ spirit — offers a fitting, sleepy nickname for a cradle song.
