Tampere Lullaby Lyrics. An original lullaby inspired by Tampere, Finland’s lake city built between two rapids, once the heart of the country’s industrial age. Tampere was once nicknamed the “Manchester of the North” for its dense cluster of 19th-century factories, powered directly by the rushing Tammerkoski rapids that still run right through the heart of the city today. Here you will find the lyrics, meaning, and chords.

Verse

Am Dm Am
Sleep now, little one, the rapids rest tonight,
Dm Am E7
the old brick mill stands quiet now, beneath the fading light.
Am Dm Am
Sleep now, little one, the twin lakes here are near,
Dm Am E7
tomorrow’s sun will rise for you, and chase away all fear.
