What this song means

Nani Sut Nani belongs to Nepal’s rich, largely oral tradition of bedtime songs, sung in homes from the Kathmandu Valley to the high hill villages. Like most Nepali lullabies, it has no fixed single version — its gentle repetition of “sleep, little one” leaves room for every mother to add her own words, her own melody, her own night.

Traditional Nepali lullaby style. The English lyrics are an original singable arrangement offered as a respectful tribute to the tradition.
