Kainuu Lullaby

Kainuu Lullaby Lyrics. An original lullaby inspired by Kainuu, one of Finland’s most remote and forested regions, home to vast stretches of wilderness. Kainuu lies close to Karelia, home to the sung oral poetry tradition later gathered into Finland’s national epic, the Kalevala, and the region’s short, intense summers bring weeks of near-endless daylight beneath the midnight sun. Here you will find the lyrics, meaning, and chords.

What “Kainuu Lullaby” Means
Kainuu is one of Finland’s most remote and heavily forested regions, its vast wilderness of marshes and pine ridges home to some of Europe’s last untouched woodlands. This original lullaby draws on those deep-woods and pine-ridge images of Kainuu heritage.
