Strandzha Lullaby Lyrics. An original lullaby inspired by the Strandzha region of southeastern Bulgaria, home to Nestinarstvo, an ancient fire-dancing ritual recognized by UNESCO. Nestinarstvo dancers perform barefoot on glowing hot coals during the festival of Saints Constantine and Helena each June 3rd, believed to enter a trance-like state while carrying sacred icons, a striking tradition added to UNESCO’s list of intangible cultural heritage in 2009 and still practiced in only a handful of Strandzha villages today.
