Zarma Lullaby Lyrics. An original lullaby inspired by the Zarma (Djerma) people, Niger’s second-largest ethnic group, living along the Niger River valley. Zarma is closely related to Songhai, part of the same language family spoken along much of the Niger River, and the community traces its roots to a historic migration from further west centuries ago, eventually settling the Zarmaganda region that remains a Zarma heartland today.
