Hutsul Lullaby Lyrics. An original lullaby inspired by the Hutsul people of the Carpathian Mountains in western Ukraine, known for sheep-herding, carved wooden churches, and the long alpine trembita horn. The trembita can stretch up to four meters long and was traditionally used to send messages echoing across mountain valleys, calling communities to funerals, celebrations, or warning of danger, and several Hutsul wooden churches are part of a UNESCO World Heritage listing recognizing the Carpathian region’s centuries-old tradition of church-building entirely in wood, without a single nail. Here you will find the lyrics, meaning, and chords.
