Ewe drumming, especially the polyrhythmic agbadza style, has been studied and admired by musicians and scholars worldwide for its intricate interlocking patterns, and alongside the coast, many Ewe communities also fish the waters of Lake Volta, one of the largest man-made lakes on Earth, formed behind the Akosombo Dam in the 1960s.
