Hmong Lullaby Lyrics. An original lullaby inspired by the Hmong people of Laos, a highland community known for vivid textile embroidery and terraced mountain farming. Hmong paj ntaub, meaning flower cloth, uses intricate reverse applique and cross-stitch techniques passed down through generations of women, and because the Hmong language had no standard written form until a Romanized alphabet was developed in the 1950s, textiles like these long served as an important way of recording and passing down stories.
