Samogitian Lullaby Lyrics. An original lullaby inspired by Samogitia, western Lithuania’s Zemaitija region, known for its own dialect and Baltic-coast amber gathering. Some linguists consider Samogitian a distinct language in its own right rather than simply a dialect of Lithuanian, and after storms sweep the Baltic coast, locals still walk the shoreline looking for amber washed up from the seabed, a tradition stretching back to the ancient amber trade routes that once linked this coast to Rome. Here you will find the lyrics, meaning, and chords.
