Aymara Lullaby Lyrics. An original lullaby inspired by the Aymara people of the Bolivian Altiplano, centered around the shores of Lake Titicaca. Each June 21st, Aymara communities welcome the new year, Machaq Mara, with a sunrise ceremony held at the winter solstice, arms raised to catch the first rays of light, and on Lake Titicaca itself, the neighboring Uros people still live on floating islands woven entirely from totora reeds, a tradition that continues to this day. Here you will find the lyrics, meaning, and chords.
