Resian Lullaby Lyrics. An original lullaby inspired by Val Resia, an isolated alpine valley in Friuli, Italy, known for its own archaic Slavic dialect and traditional fiddle-and-bass music. Val Resia’s isolation for centuries helped preserve a dialect that some linguists believe retains very old Slavic features lost almost everywhere else, and its distinctive music pairs a small fiddle called citira with a low, cello-like bunkula, a combination found nowhere else in the region.
