Sherpa Lullaby Lyrics. An original lullaby inspired by the Sherpa people of Nepal’s high Himalayas, renowned for their mountaineering skill and Tibetan Buddhist traditions. It was a Sherpa, Tenzing Norgay, who, together with Edmund Hillary, first reached the summit of Everest in 1953, and to this day prayer flags strung across mountain passes are said to carry blessings on the wind to every village below. Here you will find the lyrics, meaning, and chords.

Sleep now, little one, the snowy peaks stand still,
Dm Am E7
the prayer flags flutter soft tonight, upon the mountain hill.
Am Dm Am
Sleep now, little one, the yak bells chime so low,

tomorrow’s sun will climb the peaks, and set the snow aglow.
