What “Romansh Lullaby” Means

“Mamma” means mother in Romansh, Switzerland’s fourth national language, spoken by a small community in the canton of Grisons. Each spring, Romansh children celebrate Chalandamarz, ringing cowbells and cracking whips to chase away winter.
