Pomak Lullaby Lyrics. An original lullaby inspired by the Pomak people of Bulgaria’s Rhodope Mountains, known for preserving archaic wedding customs and mountain village life. Pomaks are Slavic-speaking Muslims, distinct from Bulgaria’s ethnic Turkish minority, and the isolation of the Rhodope Mountains has helped preserve wedding customs and traditional dress considered among the oldest and most elaborate in the Balkans, a heritage shared by Pomak communities living just across the modern border in Greece. Here you will find the lyrics, meaning, and chords.
